This month is National Pet Month so why not celebrate by treating your dogs to some extra special walk in The New Forest?

There are very few restrictions when it comes to walking in The New Forest, making it a delightful destination to spend some quality time with your perfect pooch.

If you’re unsure of where to walk, why not check our New Forest Walking Routes. Our walks span across our expansive coastlines, dense woodland and beautiful heathland so both you and your dog will get plenty of fresh air and exercise.

When walking your dog in The New Forest, just make sure you keep them in sight to avoid disturbing the New Forest ponies and other wildlife. And please remember to clean up after them. (Your dog that is, not the ponies!)

There are so many fantastic dog friendly attractions in The New Forest. Visit The New Forest Centre in Lyndhurst or the beautiful Exbury Gardens just outside of Beaulieu. Check out our Dog Information Discover Guide for more information.

After your walk, naturally you’ll want to sit down and rest, preferably with an alcoholic beverage. Lots of New Forest pubs are dog friendly so you and the pup will both be welcome. Don’t forget your Brand New Forest Card as there’s lots of brilliant money saving offers from pubs in The New Forest.

COMPETITION ALERT: To celebrate National Pet Month, The Master Builder’s Hotel at Buckler’s Hard have launched a Facebook competition. They’re giving you a chance to win a night away at their hotel for you, a guest and up to two dogs. To enter, you just need to upload a picture of your dog to their Facebook page and tell them why you think your dog deserves a break. Competition ends on 2nd May 2016.
